Explanation of services

The Fauth Center for Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation provides services for individuals following open heart surgery, after a heart attack or for those living with chronic conditions like congestive heart failure.  The program is approximately twelve weeks in duration and meets three times a week.  It consists of supervised exercise sessions including aerobic training, strength training and flexibility training. During each session, participants are supervised by a physical therapist under the direction of a physician.  Patient education classes are conducted on topics including the anatomy of the heart, diabetes, risk factors for heart disease and relaxation.

The program is an enjoyable and effective way to help patients:

Return to prior level of function following surgery or a heart attack
Gain confidence in their physical capacity
Participate in daily activities with few or no symptoms
Develop an exercise program that they can continue upon discharge
Understand the role of nutrition in health.
