The Preventive Cardiology Program is committed to bringing heart disease screening and education programs to the community and to supporting partner programs that provide these services.
PASSPORT to Heart Health for Families is a free risk factor screening and education program for family members of patients hospitalized at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital with a diagnosis of Heart Attack, or Coronary Heart Disease, or have undergone Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, Angioplasty or Stent Placement. Family members of patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) may be at increased risk due to shared genes and lifestyle. Researchers at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital were recently awarded grant from the National Institutes of Health to study this screening and educational program. If you or a family member is currently a NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital cardiac patient, or are scheduled to undergo one of the coronary procedures listed above, and would like to become part of this program, please contact our offices at (212) 305-4255. PASSPORT to Heart Health for Corporations is a visiting service that travels to corporations and health fairs to provide heart disease risk screenings and education to those interested in heart disease prevention. We bring screening and education to neighborhoods in need.The Sister to Sister: Everyone Has a Heart Foundation, Inc was founded in 2000 to increase awareness about women's heart disease and to encourage heart-healthy lifestyles among women. Sister to Sister provides free heart disease risk factor screening to women across the nation.
